09-07-2010 - SEAP of Riga was approved by the Riga City Council
Sustainable Energy Action Plan (SEAP) (2010-2020) was approved by the Riga City Council on the 6th of July 2010. Riga city has commited in 2009 by signing to the Covenant of Mayors to go beyond the EU's energy objective of reducing CO2 emissions. SEAP of Riga was created by Riga Energy Agency. SEAP is available

26-02-20010 - Utilization of flue-gas heat in Riga city heat sources
Riga Municipality Agency “Riga Energy Agency” (REA) and JSC „RĪGAS SILTUMS” (RS) have issued the brochure „Utilisation of flue-gas heat in Riga city heat sources” which contains the progress report of the energy efficiency improvement measures in Riga city district heating plants. Introduction of flue-gas heat utilization with condensation allows to utilize extra heet in the number of heat plants without incineration of fuel and to reduce CO2 emissions significantly.
The brochure „Utilisation of flue-gas heat in Riga city heat sources” has been prepared as a report addressed for the purpose of participation of Riga Municipality Agency “Riga Energy Agency” (REA) and
JSC „RĪGAS SILTUMS” (RS) in the initiative on Sustainable Energy Europe (A European campaign to change the landscape of Energy).

10-11-2009 - ENERGY FORUM 2009 - the latest event of Riga energy days

On the 5th of November the final event of Riga energy days held in Riga. It was Energy Forum 2009 which was organized by The Publisher Dienas bizness in cooperation with the Association of Latvian Energy contractors and electricians, and Riga Energy Agency. The Forum dealt with current business issues regarding the changes in the energy tariffs particularly in light of the imminent closing of Lithuania’s nuclear power plant in the late 2009, alternative energy, power bases, the impact of European and Eastern markets, energy efficiency of energy production, transmission, distribution and end use. The different events of Riga International Energy Days 2009 enhanced the interest on energy related topics of both professionals and society.

Riga Energy Days to be held during "Environment and Energy 2009"
As part of the 5th International exhibition of energy, energy efficiency and environmental technologies, the Riga Energy Agency is set to hold a series of Local Energy Days. The International Exhibition, entitled “Environment and Energy 2009”, 15-18 October 2009, will be held at the Kipsala International Exhibition Centre in Riga and is expected to attract between 25,000 and 30,000 visitors.

Riga Energy Agency signed the grant agreement
Yesterday - on the 5th of August, 2009 – on behalf of Riga City Council - Riga Energy Agency signed the grant agreement on the Project „Introducing Heat Pumps for Heat Supply in Riga City: Setting-up a Demonstration Object” supported by the Norwegian Financial Mechanism.

Round table "Financing models of energy efficiency - problems, opportunities, solutions" will held in Riga
On the 3rd of July the round table discussion "Financing models of energy efficiency - problems, opportunities, solutions" will held in Riga in the Office of The Union of Latvian Municipalities (Mazā pils street 1). The organizers of the above mentioned round table – are Riga Energy Agency in cooperation with BA School of Business and Finance and Union of Latvian Municipalities.

Partnership of Riga Energy Agency in the Project INTENSE
Study visit “Best practice examples – technical aspects of energy savings in buildings” took place in Germany from 15th to 19th of June within the framework of the Intelligent Energy funded Project, „From Estonia till Croatia: Intelligent Energy Saving Measures for Municipal housing in Central and Eastern Countries”. Representatives from Latvia (incl. Riga Energy Agency), Estonia, Poland, Czech, Hungary, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Romania, Slovenia, Croatia also Germany attended wide range of different energy efficient buildings being both under construction and after refurbishment. Study visit was arranged with support of Frankfurt Energy Agency and Municipality of Hanover city.
